Professor, University of Western Australia

During the project and at time of writing, David Andrich is Professor of Education, The University of Western Australia. His interests are in educational, psychological and social measurement where he is best known for his work with Rasch class of models for measurement. His work ranges from the philosophy of measurement, through model exposition and interpretation, to software development. He has also published on models for preference and choice. His interests include assessment designs, including paired comparisons and direct response designs, constructing achievement continua using Rasch models, and the study of growth at the population, sample, and individual levels. David also sits on the Board of the School Curriculum and Standards Authority in Western Australia, and has written state and national reports on the selection of students into universities.
